NFL 2009 Preseason Jitters

NFL 2009 is nearing its initial kick off, officially on September 10th, 2009. Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers will try to draw first blood on the said date and have a chance for an early dominance on the NFL Power Rankings. Next play day for the season will be on the 13th, featuring 13 pairings that include great matchups such as NY Jets vs. Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns, and Washington Redskins against NY Giants.

That said, fans are already on their feet for this year’s latest NFL schedule on the preseason games. Second week of the preseason matchups will see undefeated Tennessee Titans (2-0) battle it out against the still winless yet highly touted Dallas Cowboys (0-1) on August 22nd. On the day before that, winless teams Philadelphia Eagles (0-1) and Indianapolis Colts (0-1) will finally get a chance to snatch a victory.

Other teams to play during the second week will be New England Patriots (0-1) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) , on August 20th, Atlanta Falcons (0-1) vs. St. Louis Rams (1-0) on August 21st, and Miami Dolphins (1-0) vs. Carolina Panthers (0-1). For local schedules, just check your local sports sources.

Many have made logical moves in lots of NFL Mock Draft all over the country. Some made draft picks that do not make senses. However, the following are some of the draft movements that deserve some attention this coming NFL season.

Notable draft movements include Raiders’ selection of TE Brandon Myers, who is slated to act as a blocking tight end, and will serve as an extra lineman. Broncos’ new quarterback Tom Brandstater is said to see some action this season, since the Bronco’s only have two QBs in their lineup. Patriots will see whether they made the right choice by picking Rich Ohrnberger to play guard. Ohrnberger is hyped to fit into the Patriots’ zone-blocking scheme.

There are other things to watch out for this season. Expect great tackles, great pass and interceptions, great American football.
